As I enjoyed my time “away from it all” this weekend at our deer-hunting property, I utilized my dad’s new Sony Camera to stitch some of my own HDR photos.  They are still being processed so I will not be able to post them at this time.  Despite this, though, flickr offers a wide variety of HDR nature photos to feast your eyes upon if you so choose.  HDR, which stands for High Dynamic Range Imaging (notice the word dynamic), is a fusion of three or more images of a panorama into one picture.  The unique thing about this form of digital photography is the difference found in each image.  Every one is taken in a different setting, which, when put together, breeds an entirely new perspective of one of the original photos.  This new compilation is layered together and allows for a wider spectrum of lights and darks.  The end result is a much more realistic depiction of the actual scene.  Now a digital camera can capture images which rival the champion analogs.  This breakthrough will lead to many new and exciting things.  Imagine seeing a picture that is, though a mere representation, pretty dang close to the real deal.
